Jean-Georges Noverre, the celebrated ballet dancer, choreographer, and theoretician, was born in 1727 in Paris, France.
His early education in dance was guided by renowned ballet masters Louis Dupré and François-Robert Marcel.
Debut and Success
Noverre made his debut at the Palace of Fontainebleau in 1742 or 1743, captivating the court of King Louis XV.
His performance led to an invitation from Prince Henry of Prussia to join the Berlin Opera Ballet. Upon returning to Paris, he joined the Opéra-Comique and married actress and dancer Marguerite-Louise Sauveur in 1748.
